Meet Shannan Scarselletta
CEO & Founder of ImproVision Consulting
In my past life as a Strategy & Change Consultant, I guided Fortune 500 companies through significant transformations. However, I saw the same pattern: Consulting firms would hand their clients pretty slides with a clean strategy and bid farewell, leaving the client leaders to struggle to actually embed behavior change in the messy reality of their work. I believe this is why 70% of transformations fail – because strategy without action is the kiss of death.
At the same time I was consulting with IBM, I was an improv comedian, performing with theaters like Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade. And I discovered that the same tools my clients needed to adapt and influence through uncertainty were the same that my team practiced each show.
I founded ImproVision to fill the void where traditional consulting firms fall short: to equip leaders with the power to drive change in uncertainty.
To help our clients break their mold, we made sure our approach breaks the mold of traditional consulting. Our services combine neuroscience-backed leadership development, strategic consulting frameworks, and improv-inspired practical learning. We embrace action over slides, we challenge our leaders to grow rather than do it for them, and we always make doing and learning hard things fun.
We teach and live by the improv principle “Yes, And” – embracing new ideas, and building upon them to stay influential in uncertain times. It’s why our logo is an ampersand!
Behavior change is hard, and yet it is the only way to get returns on strategy. Change is hard, but we have your backs. That’s why it’s our mission not just to help you execute the change… but to help you be the change.
Shannan Scarselletta is a nationally recognized executive coach, leadership developer and keynote speaker trusted by Fortune 500 organizations and industry leaders across energy, healthcare, technology, retail, and finance, to transform how leaders communicate, adapt, and perform under pressure.
A Cornell University graduate where she earned her degree in Philosophy, Shannan was a four-year captain of the Big Red women’s basketball team, leading them to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth and an Ivy League championship in 2008. She built her career as a Fortune 500 change consultant at IBM and North Highland, leading transformational initiatives for global organizations, while simultaneously performing improv nationwide with Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, iO, and ComedySportz.
This unique combination of elite athletics, corporate transformation, and performance arts revealed what traditional consulting lacked: the power of spontaneous, authentic connection. So in 2015, Shannan founded ImproVision Consulting to help leaders not only execute change but be the change, mastering powerful communication, adaptive thinking, and storytelling that inspires genuine transformation.
A member of the Forbes Business Council, Shannan is known for her pioneering methodology that bridges traditional leadership development with experiential learning. Using her proprietary framework, The Playbook™, she combines neuroscience-backed leadership principles with action-based improv techniques to build cultures of psychological safety, adaptive thinking, and collaborative innovation.
The coach everyone wants to play for, Shannan and her company have coached over 500 Fortune 500 leaders and executives, from C-suite to frontline managers to technical leaders navigating the unique challenges of leading without formal authority. Her 99% recommendation rate reflects what happens when leaders don’t just learn best practices, they embody them through experiential learning that engages hearts, hands, and minds.
Known for her authenticity, insight, and ability to create breakthrough moments, Shannan delivers powerful coaching that connects at a human level while equipping leaders with the adaptive skills to thrive in ambiguity and lead with confidence in a world that never stops changing.
Shannan lives in Houston with her husband, Michael, and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys searching estate sales for hidden gems, teaching improv classes, watching and discussing Heated Rivalry, and volunteering in her community.
